Max Mandelbaum, 83, of Duluth passed away Friday, Jan. 4, 2002, in Lakeshore Lutheran Home.

Max owned and operated Max's Shoe Repair on West First Street. He was born in Poland on Sept. 10, 1918, to Penkos and Rebka Oireecham Mandelbaum. Max married Pola Silkina on Nov. 25, 1951. Both Max and Pola were formerly in displaced persons camps in Germany after the war. Max became a U.S. citizen in October 1956.

GRAVESIDE SERVICES were held Monday, Jan. 7, at Adas Israel Cemetery. Arrangements by Johnson Mortuary.
